Hey guys, I just bought a new dark voice 336se and plugged in the tubes and turned it on a and no more than 10 minutes later I hear what sounds like a very quite sizzle and a bit of smoke coming out. Please tell me this was dust or normal. Only plugged into power no input

Do you have the small tube in front and large tube in rear,or vice/versa?

Is there a real bad electrical smell coming from your amp?

Mild. Smells a bit like something fried but I have to put my nose against it to smell that.

It looks like your tubes are placed correctly to me.I have no idea why your amp should be sizzling and smoking.Thats not normal.
Hopefully you have a warranty.i would contact the seller tomorrow and try to get a replacement.

I read comment by somebody with a similar complaint. They said they tried again with a fire extinguisher nearby in the smoke eventually stopped and then it functioned perfectly. Is it possible it's just adhesive or something burning off while it's getting up to operating temperature for its very 1st time

I dont want to tell you yes or no,cuz if it catches on fire i dont want you blaming me...serious though,Ive owned two brand new tube amps and never experienced what youre describing.
It could be something innocent as adhesive or the like,perhaps.If you were frying electronics inside your whole room would smell.It wouldnt be faint.

I face the same issue with my Darkvoice, I keep wondering if it's from dust and long periods of not using it. Using more from that point seems to make the problem go away, but it's never not alarming.
