Hi! This moment my setup looks like this: Flacs -> Asio -> Emu 0404 PCI -> Some cheap 3m cordial rca-cable -> MF x-can v3 (fully modded by pinkfloyd mods + little pinkie v3, stock tubes) -> HD-650 (stock cable). I have been pretty happy with it, I like the neutral sound of 650s with the stock tubes. But I have been thinking of buying a better dac like bencmark dac-1. What kind of improvement I should be expecting with dac-1 compared to emu or is the system even capable of bringing the full capacity of it? Of course I have very bad interconnects but im going to replace them very soon.

From what I hear the Emu 0404 is a good DAC. I don't think you will get a huge boost in sound quality, but I am sure someone with more experience with chime in.
