Well, after getting my 501's, I cannot stand the feel of sound of my MDR-V6's.

I'm looking for a new closed can, similar in sound to the 501's.

Possibly a pair of DT770's is what came to mind.

Any suggestions.

how bout the DT770?!

they won't nearly have the soundstage of your K701, but have got some bass and have a rather non-bloomy sound across all frequencies, quite good, not best but damn good.

Lol, I didn't exactly choose it, just seemed a pretty popular closed phone.

So, any other suggestions? I really hate the sound of my V6's now, so hopefully nothing like them.

Well, if money is an issue, travel costs will be much more than the headphones themselves.

Of course, there are many benefits to going to the meet though.

I dissent highly with this statement. The K271S and the K501 sound nothing alike, despite the fact I own a bass-light variation of the K501. There are just so many qualities that the K501 has that the K271S does not.

If you want a closed can that sounds like the K501, the Audio-Technica A900 is far more closer than the K271S could aspire to. It's a decent can, definitely one you should probably demo.

I'm also confused that you like the K501 but hate the MDR-V6? Those two cans have a few similarities! What's the difference between the two for you?
