I just bought a O2+ODAC, and the stock cable is just to long for my situation.
And if the sound improves with a better quality cable, that's a big plus.
I' am not that convinced of the very expensive cables like pure silver ones. They probably perform better when tested with lab equipment, but for sound signals? It's not like a 13Ghz oscilloscoop probe cable.
I think there is allot of placebo effect going on in the audio world, allot of blind tests show how hard or even impossible it is to notice differences.
But I have not seen any blind tests of headphone cables for the HD600.
I gues it's at least possible to improve sound quality over the stock HD600 cable, just looking at the thickness of the conductor.
I think a good quality copper, silver plated cable would be a good upgrade that's not to expensive.
My budget is around $ 60,- to $ 110,-.
So I' am basically looking for a best buy around this budget.
The stock HD650 is a best buy for it's price, but to long of a cable for me.
And a "budget" custom cable is "always" better than the stock HD600 / HD650 I think.
Ik would like a cable of 1,5m with a 3,5mm straight jack.
This is one of the cables I found...

From Custom Cans for $ 95,-
Also found this on on E-bay...

From Furutech? for $53,-
The Furutech uses "Japan FURUKAWA PCOCC cable" the Custom Cans use "Silver Plated OFC cable".
Not sure what's better. I also see the Furutech cable is shielded, not sure about the Custom Cans one.
Another difference I see with all custom HD600 cables, some have rhodium plated connectors, other have a gold color.
It looks like the stock HD650 have a gold color (gold plated?), the HD600 rhodium. Is gold plated better?
There are so many custom cables, and I don't know what to look for.
Any advice is appreciated.
