New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)

I heard about the loaner program for the Burson Play from Alex at Burson Audio and I wanted to throw my hat in the ring! I am currently building an Amanero (v.2016 w/ "Golden" Vanguard 0.1ppm TXCOs) + ES9038Pro on the Q8 v2.2 DIY DAC. I'll be doing all the soldering including the ES9038Pro, so keep a lookout for my review using Burson V5 OPA and V5i series op-amps along with Orange's discrete offerings combined with the mentioned hardware! The ES9038Pro supposedly can do DSD64-1024 natively and I'll be using I2S output from my Amanero which tops out at DSD512 I believe.

Vanguard TCXO hasn't yet been installed in this picture. I am actually installing oscillator sockets so I can "roll" my oscillators! I love those Rhodium plated RCA jacks!

Having something like the Play for comparison would definitely be interesting! Should have mine built this month, just got the IC from Asia after a 3 month wait...(USPS lost the first ES9038Pro in the mail 20 miles from the destination..) I already have EVERYTHING else, including the metal enclosure, the transformers (R-Core and Toroidal) + power supply boards and everything else! I am expecting build cost to be right around $300-$350 (not including my labor value), which is pretty dang reasonable imo! Companies are charging 3-5x that for similar setup/hardware in the finished state.

Thanks for your answer. Selvakumar I see you have the Mayflower Arc as well, how does the mic input on the Play compares to the one on the Arc? I've seen a few people report the mic input on the Arc sounds a bit "tinny" .

ARC mic is good but the sound stage is good with PLAY and lot of option to add colour to audio and more important its pure CLASS A circuit and mic is Excellant and one thing I dont know why BURSON placed a molex instead of pcie connector since inbuild 5.25 inch DACS like my ASUS SUPREME FX HI-FI dac has pcie connector and we can easily arrange the cable inside the pc but for molex it's difficult
