Don't like the look of the red but the black one looks really sweet, I think the logo looks so much nicer in black + silver.

I'll wait for the ATH-WS99x to come out in 2014

I hope that Audio-Technica will create a really cool masterpiece. In fact, I admire JVC creatures (the JVC HA-SZ1000 and the JVC HA-SZ2000), but they are too HUGE for me.

Oh my gosh the red looks awesome!

Oh yes, I like this new design very much too.

Only was an assumption on my part, but seeing as to how AT operates it wouldn't be a surprise. With the WS55x at around only $99 USD and no scheduled date for US release, who knows when the 99x will come out. What does the X stand for anyway? Easy enough for me to wait and see since i have the WS99 already..

X is a slight improvement on an old series for whatever reason. On the solid bass series it really looks to be an improvement on the older stuff lower part of the line up that was not so great. So, they fixed up the CKS 55 and 77 and the WS lower level. I maintain there will be no 99X. The line up is set now and won't be tweaked but replaced. The next year replacement should be the WS100 or WS1000 or something like that. Probably done till a whole new line of Solid Bass. I just hope they don't wait years like they have done in the past like the ES7 released in fall of 2005 was not replaced till the ES700 in fall of 2012.

Also since no one posted it...

...the red 33X which looks quite nice, Though maybe a bit too red. Black pads would have been nice to trim them out.
