seems like a limited run, for testing purposes also, pretty much. New tech? do a tiny run, rather than 3000 units. It will have a couple things to improve, for a later larger run... and... like that until it is very very polished, I guess...67 unit limitation seems really weird.
Whenever they are going to offer a real ribbon headphone in their lineup, I might Grab one too

Thats my guess as well. This is a test run they made some cans out of. I just hope they don't drop the super high end version (lcd-5?) Directky after this destroying resale. I'm also currious what they will end up doing about the amp pairing issue if they do release a main line can with this tech as in the totl market a single amp pairing generaly isn't well received. I mean look at how few people actualy use a solitaire P with the amp litteraly designed for it and OI tuned for it.
Here is my review of this amazing setup....don't let the $2,500 price tag fool you, they are in TOTL territory for sound quality:

Anyone publish an FR yet? They will be in customer hands imminently so I'm kinda suprised it isn't out given the fact that a couple people have mentioned they have it
Ty for the review. Mind if I as how these stack up against something like a susvara or 1266 on a decent amp? Assuming they aren't on that level, but just currious.
Also, yoy talk about timbre in your review but I couldn't quite figure out if you think its a natural timbre (al la raal and sus) or just a pleasing unnatural one (empy)

Actually I would indeed put them on the same level...that's what really astounded me...they are that impressive. With regards to timbre, they are very natural and balanced with Audeze-like bass and not like the Empy in terms of overall enveloping warmth. Hope that helps.Ty for the review. Unfortunately it's no longer available, so it doesn't even matter if they are good or not

Meh. There will 1000% be some on the used market. Plus something not being avilible doesn't mean it isn't cool to read about

It is significantly less cool than reading about something actually available though.Meh. There will 1000% be some on the used market. Plus something not being avilible doesn't mean it isn't cool to read about
And as I said it was a nice review, which I enjoyed reading.

my guess is this was a dry run to see how they are received and perhaps the tech will be included in a replacement model of the lcd-4 etc...raal is creating a circumaural version of the sr1a I understand so it seems the tech is evolving...personally I think the sr1a is the most revolutionary product I have heard in years so I am curious about the new audeze models

Especially something similar to a Raal coupled with Audeze Bass, that could be the pinnacle of headphones.my guess is this was a dry run to see how they are received and perhaps the tech will be included in a replacement model of the lcd-4 etc...raal is creating a circumaural version of the sr1a I understand so it seems the tech is evolving...personally I think the sr1a is the most revolutionary product I have heard in years so I am curious about the new audeze models
