I got the new album today, and have got to say I really like it. Pretty much the whole thing feels like I am at an Architecture concert, which is a good thing. Sometimes I don't like concerts that feel like albums, but the other way around is cool.

In comparison to In Case We Die it feels much more party-like. Not as many long and slow sections in the middle of otherwise upbeat songs.

My only complaint so far is the length. Ten songs for 31 minute total.
Anyone else heard this? What did you think?

I don't have it yet, but it's on the way soon...along with the new Augie March, Liars, Animal Collective, The New Pornographers...some good music for the fall!

I'm waiting on this one as well. As a lover of short upbeat albums, your description has me worked up! I could give or take "In Case We Die" so maybe this will keep me interested in them.

That Liars that was mentioned has been leaked for a while as well, and I've heard good things about it. I'm surprised more aren't talking about it here.

Hmm, my favorites on In Case You Die were the longer multi-tempo songs like "Do The Whirlwind", or when they sounded kind of like The Fiery Furnaces. But then again, none of the songs were much over 4 minutes anyway. Haven't listened to that one in quite awhile so gonna pull it out and reabsorb. Fun group, but don't remember truly loving it.

Sorry for the threadjack, but is that the one with Moo in the title? I take it you must've liked the other one you got? Been meaning to pick up the latest myself, but it was import only for a long time so I held off. Released almost a year and a half ago in their Aussie homeland. Those guys have a great sound, very high quality songwriting and music. Apparently pretty big at home, but sadly almost unknown here except for some internet circles. Make sure you talk a little about it after listening so I know what to do, but it has gotten some great reviews in the last year, including a 9 at PopMatters ...

edit: Oh, now Moo is on the way for under $5 from amazon. Yea. Thanks for the reminder. This place would be a killer on the budget without the great deals available on some of the more obscure stuff - course you're all a lot worse than me

Well, I have to agree with everything The Actual said.

I like this one a-lot better than "In Case We Die." which kind or reminded me of Broken Social Scene lite.

The band seems much more focused here and concentrated on their strengths. Not to mention, it's catchy as all get out.

I like "In Case We Die" (I even got the remix album...) However, I agree this new album is better. They are playing to their strengths...
