Hello everyone.
 
It's been a year since I've went to a dealer and I haven't been able to get it out of my head.
 
I listened to some Stax phones there and some others.
 
What I really loved was the setup with the Sennheiser HD800, Lehman Cube Amp and Accuphase CD Player.
 
However, the cd player cost was triple the cost of the HD800 and Cube. He suggested I should go for the DACMagic, I bet there has been alot of changes so I can spend around 500-700 for another DAC. Or should I just get the DACMagic and save for an upgrade somewhere else?

i'm pretty much a newbie too, but i'm looking at getting my first dac/headphone amp combo. i'm leaning heavily towards the centrance dacmini cx. it's got pretty good reviews, you might want to check it out.

I remember having looked at some dac/amp combo's before but they just didn't sound quite as interesting because I cant replace parts later,
my final goal would be a Zodiac dac, however, I'm not really too sure about the amp anymore, maybe go tube (WA2??, but this one would be hard to get in Europe I guess).

I have both the dacmagic and dacport. They sound different with the dacport being a bit more flat and laid back.
