The K-812 price is just to much, if they want to compete with the HD-800 they should lower the price.

If AKGs will be just as good as HD800, they can compete with them effortlessly, because 812 Pro are waaay more efficient and you wouldn't have to buy megabuck amp to drive them properly.

10 weeks...that's really a long time to wait. Hope the low impedance can bring ease in matching AMPs that I don't need to change my HDVD800.

The HDVD800 will not be the right amp, because of its High output impedance when I recall right somewhere around 30 Ohm which would be a bad damping factor of 1 for the K812. This wiill probably lead to an uneven frequency response.

Oh really? I am using HDVD800 with W3000ANV at the middle gain level and feel it's better than pairs with HA5000. So I thought it might be adaptable to lower impedance headphones by adjust the gain level.

I feel K812 would be similar to HE-6, low impedance, but a electric current eater.

I've recently come to this conclusion myself about headphones. Speakers in the $600-$800 range really beat just about every headphone around.

I actually found that to be opposite. Even the most expensive pair of speaker can't seems to sound as detail as a pair of headphone, same way a pair of headphone will never have as good a soundstage as a pair of speakers or have the bass experienced by your whole body.
