Did you see that both grounds are connected at the bottom of the board?

should we seperate this ground on back of pcb you think?

What wire thickness do you suggest for this? Would a solidcore 28gauge be too thin for this application?

22-24 AWG is more appropriate and solid core, of course. A shield is not a must, but can't hurt either.

when the tdk ferrites made a difference,
it made me think ...
the case is too small, transformer too close to circuit, create noise
short of changing the case ... what could I do ?

then i remember , we use to cut up unetched PCB to use as shielding,
not exactly fun in a tight fit, so I unbolted the transformer and wrapped it in

kitchen aluminium foil ....hahaha ...it actually works ... cheapest tweak yet!!!

But how did it improve the sound?I still have some copper foil here i had thought about using.I did put some of the copper foil on the underside of the top .

the background is more quiet, anyway it cost nothing to try

if you hear something and you like it just add more layers

you don like it peel it off, easily reversible

good lord, this thread has grown out of proportion. We will need a separate zhoalu 2 thread when it comes out and i bet in just a few weeks, that thread will have an insane amount of posts and dare i say could topple this one
