Neumann MT48 Reference Audio Interface

It will be interesting to see comments about the sound quality of this unit. Am I alone in thinking that at least it looks beautiful? I hope it can be harnessed for use as a DAC/Preamp/Headphome Amp.

Feel free to comment on your experience with this unit.

What DAC does it use? Looks like the sort of thing that uses Sabre.

Apparently something from Merging Technologies. It is very closely based on their Merging+Anubis unit, with different digital input connectors.

The instruction manual has been released over the past day or so - looks like it may be getting closer. The software looks pretty bare bones compared with the Merging Anubis at this stage - hopefully that will be brought up to the Anubis level with various Missions available.

It appears that the Merging and Neumann units DO use ESS Sabre chips.

I got the Merging Anubis Premium instead of the Neumann MT48, and love it, despite its much more complicated setup procedure than the MT48. Who needs balanced outputs anyway? I've got the Fidelice for that.
