These are the first "Real World" shots of the new DT990, thanks for the pics! Let us know how it sounds once you get a chance! And btw, once you get that can recabled and woodied, I bet it will seem even more like a Darth Beyer to you, but who knows really - it's a new can after all!

Whoa! Those look WAY cooler than the new DT 880 or DT 770! I really like the metal grilles on the sides more than I thought I would!

Lol! Well it ain't no woody that's for sure. But I think that "Buck Rogers" look is really catching on with the kids these days or something - first the SA5K, then the K701, now this refresh of the Beyer line - pretty soon I'll become an old fogey and only like the "Vintage Can Look" hehe! We better bet that the Senn HD700, whenever that happens, is going to look the most futuristic, right?

pardon me but iirc the term Darth is given to the beyers who are taken to Larry at headphile to be converted to the dark side.

Stock, Beyers are more like Anakin - you can tell there is great power in it, but the kid is too busy chilling with jar jar to do the down and dirty. Once converted to the dark side, they really do earn the name Darth Beyers.

Well even without being on the Dark Side, lil Annie could kick everyone's butt in a chariot scooter race in Tatooine, and also blow up a Trade Federation base, so yes, no doubt that a Stock Beyer still has that BOOM. Hahaha, I was more referencing my distaste for the newer Star Wars movies, and in particular the constantly-brooding-obnoxious-can't-act Anakin.
