network storage for squeezebox v3

1) can any type of wireless network storage work with Squeezebox 3?


2) also, if i get my pc to send data via wi-fi to my squeezebox, whats the situation with aiso? would it still be advantagous to play get it? bear in mind i dont even understand it, i merely know it can make your music sound better. I dont even know how i would use it. help please.

1 - there's a list of suitable NAS devices on the squeezebox forums.

2. No. you're sending the file data to the squeezebox, not decoded audio (unless you're using the transcode feature - but even then it's wav file data). ASIO does not even enter the equation here. ALL the decoding is doen in the player for MP3s , Oggs WMA, flacs ,aiff or wavs. You Cannot play DRM'd WMA or AAC (Fairplay).
