I don't post here that often but I'm a regular visitor. Anyway, hopefully I have contributed something positive to head-fi with this simple experiment.

The obligatory picture first:

As you can see those two headphones are
creative EP630 and
JVC FX33.

I simply put the JVC earpieces on to the creative EP630 and the results were - well - lets just say worth starting this thread.

I will not post any impressions as such right now because placebo can be a sneaky foe; however, I would like those of you who have these two headphones (not sure how many) to try the JVC earpieces with the creative EP630... Also, please compare the creative EP630 (with F33 earpieces) with any high-end IEM you have or even your regular headphones.

We must have a minimum of 30 positive impressions to consider this experiment even mildly successful.

Good Luck!

Alright, I'm going to say something that will get your attention.

Creative EP630 with JVC FX33 earpieces sounds like Sennheiser HD600. And It sounds more balanced, more transparent and with a better bass than Shure E3C!

Go and try this, you will thank me for it!

EDIT:.........uh, do they need an amp?

You don't need an amp but they would benefit from it.

I have been listening to EP630 with FX33 earpieces since yesterday and I'm just really enjoying it. My HD280 which I use for my computer feels boring and flat compared to EP630 with FX33 earpieces.

This experiment is most definitely worth a try.

anywhere to get the marshmallow eartips by themselves (so I don't have to buy a new pair of earbuds)?

yes you can. search in google.

if you have the EP630 I would say ago ahead and buy the marshmallow (FX33), use the EP630 earpieces with FX33. Its worth it!
