[FrZ-Fi]

So my trusty Klipsch 2.1s are finally on their last legs, and I need a replacement. I was just going to purchase another set of the same, but I was wondering if there is a better option in the 2.1 segment. I am willing to spend $200-$250.

These would run me 200-300 for just two monitors, no sub. Would it still be a better option than that of a klipsch 2.1 system? I will mostly use these speakers with onboard sound and for general use. I have a Schiit Modi 2 and valhalla I use with headphones for music

I believe the Valhalla comes with a line-output (red/white RCAs), which is an unbalanced connection, which would work with the studio monitors I've listed.
Surprised you did not connect the Klipsch 2.1 to the Valhalla's line-outputs, would have improved audio quality over plugging the klipsch's into the motherboard.
 
This y adapter ($1.76) would allow the Klipsch's to be connected to the Valhalla.

This is the cable I use to connect the RCAs on my DAC to the Monoprice 5" studio monitors 1/4" plugs.
It should connect any of the studio monitors I listed to the RCAs on the Valhalla.
