Ok, I reviewed the threads here and figured I'd go for Sony MDR-CD3000 headphones; then I called all over half the country looking for them; then I posted here asking where can you find them. Now I see that they have been discontinued for several months and have been replaced with the Sony MDR-SA1000/3000/5000 series.
1. How good are the CD3000s versus the SA3000 and the SA5000 (I guess that's the best one?) - what and how big are the differences; I'd like to listen to all types of music - well recorded jazz, vocals, etc., but also rock.
2. Can the SA3000 and SA5000 be bought anywhere closer than Japan? For how much?
3. Just in case, does anyone have any new ideas on where a pair of CD3000s can still be purchased?
