Hi, I'm new here :D
I need some help choosing new headphones. I currently have m50s and they're very decent, but they're really uncomfortable after long use.
I got around $150ish to spend. I'm going to be using them for music and games. I listen to pretty much the whole spectrum of music from classical to rock, ballads to hiphop, jazz to kpop iono I like to listen to a lot of different stuff. These are going to have to be very comfortable too since I intend to use them for several hours at a time.
I'm currently leaning towards the hd558. They seem to be pretty decent and they look very comfortable. Good choice? Suggestions?

The 558's are a good pair of all rounders, in my experience they do well with all genres. The 558's are also a lot more comfortable than the M50, I can wear them for hours without much of an issue. The 558's cable is also detachable if you're looking for convenience or compact storage but bear in mind that the 558 comes with a 6.3mm standard rather than a 3.5mm and in order to plug into 3.5mm sources you'll need to use the adaptor provided which can make your plug a bit big. - See below -

Other members also seem to be recommending a used A900X but I haven't had any experience with them so I can't say too much.

Edit: It's also possible to perform a mod for the 558's to increase the sound stage to make it similar to the 598.

Sometimes you can find used HD558s for just over $100, on eBay or Amazon.
Remove the black rubber tape from inside the cups of the HD558 to improve the mids and treble (might loss a slight amount of bass).
The bass on the HD558 is going to be less full, then the ATH-M50s, but it's still decent bass

This replacement cable ($16-$19) should make it a little easier for using the HD558.
