I'm looking for an usb soundcard/dac for my laptop to use with my new HD555. I currently have the turtle beach micro audio advantage but I feel like they can be improved significantly. My budget is 50$.

Save up $100-$200 and then you'll be able to get a worthwhile upgrade like an EMU 0202, 0404, entry level DACs like the Firestone Fubar / Valab NOS. Also, on a tight budget... buy things on eBay, using Microsoft's cashback. Go on live.com, search for "wii" or "xbox" or something, and click the eBay sponsored link. You should see a logo at the top indicating the % you'll get back. It's around 15% right now so you could almost get an 0202 for your budget.

I too am highly interested in what other low end options there are. I just got a E-MU 0404 for my mains, but I have a couple other places I'd like to run USB to and wire up sound for, and I'm looking for more USB stereo outputs to do that with.
