i just bought an AKG K271, its an amazing headphone
i use my computer as the source
my computer got onboard AC97, and also got a Soundblaster Audigy in it
so, if i want to improve the sound a bit more, should i get a DAC, amp or a new soundcard? or a combination?

i listen to jazz in ape mostly, and some pop, r&b, in mp3 192kb and above

all suggestion appreciated

I just received my Zhaolu DAC 1.3 with headphone amp upgarde. The sound quality is unbeatable for the price but the build quality is .. emm, I had to open the case and added 8
screws here and there. I use it to drive my HD600/Cardas

Dividing the budget into $200 for sound card plus $200 for amp, this would be sufficient for a 1212m and some rather nice amp (head to amps forum for suggestions). If the amp should get costlier, consider the Audiophile 192 and Juli@ as well.

Has anyone heard the M-Audio Super DAC 2496? I'm more interested in pre-mod impressions though >_>
