Hey guys,
So I need recommendations on some preferably closed back headphones under $300 but it would be best if they were under $250 especially if they require an amp. I'm relatively new to the audiophile world and I want a new pair because I recently found out that my m50's were fake (after having them for a year and thinking they were the best thing ever). I have been looking at some choices such as the Beyerdynamic DT-770's or the Fostex Mad Dogs (I think that's what they're called).. I'm into stronger bass and good vocals but not ear splitting highs. I listen to mostly rock/alternative but I'd like something that could also be well rounded! As for an amp I'd rather a pair that could do without one, but if it's worth getting that pair + an amp I need recommendations on a portable amp and if it could be used while charging that'd be even better.

Hiya, have you looked at K550? they can be easily driven without amp.
what is the source of the music (mp3 or flac)? are you listening from laptop or mobile phone? what genres of music do you listen?

I looked at the K550 but I kind of disregarded them because they were reviewed as more monitor headphones and they didn't have good bass. Is this true? I am mostly using my Samsung Galaxy s4 and my laptop. No FLACs at the moment but I may get some later on. I mostly listen to rock, alternative, pop, and some dubstep. I listen to the band Muse about 90% of the time if that helps at all
