I am in desperate need of an amp upgrade with some new phones coming my way, and i have narrowed my choices down to two amps: A Gilmore Lite, or the M3 amp.

I know the Gilmore Lite costs about $300, but i have no idea about the pricing on the m3..although these two amps should be similar in costs. I am looking for a smooth, detailed, and fast sound, with some very good bass slam to boot. I would also like the amp to have a the smooth sound, along with the musicality..not a cold, univolving, lifeless sound. The amp i choose would have to be better at doing well with a variety of phones (Sony, Senns, Audio-Technica..ect) to make them all sound good with the amp. Hopefully, this is enough info for you guys to help me choose which of these two amps would fit my needs. So which of these would be the overall better sounding amp?

Any help or comments woud be very appreciated.

Any suggestions? I think im gonna have to make my decision pretty soon, so whatever comments would be helpful.

You may want to check out the MD meet impression thread. I believe there was some discussion of the M3 and I think some mention of the Lite.
