Hey guys!
I'm finally venturing into the world of vinyl which has interested me for some time. I've already got a receiver (Sony STR-6050) and my speakers (KLH Model Seventeens), although at the moment I think I'll primarily be listening through my headphones (Modded Fostex T50RPs). I know little to nothing about compatibility but assumed there wasn't too much deviation in turntables. I've had a turntable running on my receiver before though I don't know which model.
As I'm on a budget I've been looking into buying a used turntable as I've heard it can be a good choice to find older, but quality tables. Right now I'm looking at a few different options.
First up is a vintage Taya (not sure of the model) with a new Shure R47XT Cartridge and 5X stylus for only $45. http://tinyurl.com/nw6zwgy
Second is an old Dual 1225 with a new Audio Technica Cartridge for $137. It's a private sale and the owner seems quite confident in it's condition and performance. http://tinyurl.com/przrvjd
Lastly I was also looking at the possibility of just buying a new Audio Technica AT-LP60. It was the only thing I could afford at the local shop, and the gentleman who runs the place was extraordinarily helpful so I wouldn't feel good giving him some business. He doesn't have a site but it can be seen here. Only $120 plus tax at the store. http://tinyurl.com/nsmznlp
As far as what I listen to if that impacts the decision, I honestly listen to everything but country, new music and old. I've done some research but quite honestly I ended up spending far too much time researching headphones before I got them and I'm afraid the same thing would happen were I left to my own devices. I'm in school and working so I'm trying to make a quicker purchase this time around.
Thank you in advance for any advice you have to offer! It is greatly appreciated!
