I currently own the astros A40's after 4 years they being good to me, but I step on them last week and now they're broken. Instead of buying another headset I decided to just get a really decent Heavy BASS headphones. Price range is not an issue but I'm not willing to pay more than $300 on the headphone itself unless is truly worth it. I heard the JVC Z Series HA-SZ2000 have good sound overall and they're heavy on the bass. Now I heard is better to get an amp to fully use the headphone and I've being looking into getting the FiiO e12. I'm currently using a sound card on my PC the Xonar DX from Asus. My MOBO (Asus Maximus VIII Hero) on board sound is SupremeFX  and it comes with ESS ES9023P (DAC).

I have a few question regarding what is the best way to setup the headphones
 SoundCard-AMP-Headphone?
OnBoardCard-AMP-Headphone?

What other amp/headphone are in the market that have better sound quality (Specially with a lot of bass) can you guys recommend?

My main usage of the headphones are going to be for Music>Gaming>Movies>everything else.

Any suggestions of what should I get?

(I don't need mic)

Thanks and I appreciate your help.

I would disable the on-board audio, in the BIOS
and connect a headphone amplifier (E12 or other) to the Xonar DX.
