THAT is worth it. RTI series for sure sounds better than the monitor series.

@purpleangel. Sorta off topic but hey i just got working a free Onkyo app that is pretty cool. Can control all inputs, bass, treble, volume, zones, of my onkyo as well as sound modes, center chanel level, subwoofer level, etc using my iPad or an iphone/itouch. Super easy to use I'm really happy with it. I use ALAC in itunes and I have the remote app for itunes too where you can control movies, songs, etc.

Great find! I was set on the Monitor 70s, but now I don't know what to get anymore again.

It's an extra $42 per speaker for the RTI8, but chances are the improved audio quality over the monitor 70s should make the RTI8s worth it.
Join the website forums at AVSforum and AVforum, post the question id the RTI8s are worth it.

Yep. Good place to find out.

I would also ask in the Polk Owners Thread on AVS.

I didn't even notice that was your username over there at AVS (I look at avatars too much). And I've replying to you there, too (LOL)

I saw you mention you want your room to sound like a club in the Polkies thread. If you are into EDM/hip hop/rap, eventually you will probably want a sub to take it to that level. I have tower speakers, and I cross them over at 80hz and let my two 18" subs take over the beat in my living room.

Wow I just noticed that haha! Didn't pay attention to the usernames.

Yeah essentially I want the floorstanding speakers to sound "full", "powerful", and rumble my room basically. I know a good sub will definitely do the trick, but I won't be able to afford a good one for a long while after getting the Monitor 70s, so I'm hoping those speakers will still fulfill my needs for a while. I listen to mostly a wide range of rock music from indie all the way to metalcore, but I do love some EDM/hip hop/rap stuff for fun once in a while, and I want those speakers to really shake up the room when I'm bumping that type of music.

Anyways, I've ordered the Monitor 70s from Newegg. Can't wait to try them out!

It's only on the Internet that two people could talk to each other in two different conversations, and not realize they were talking to the same person. LOL

For rock and indie, the Monitor 70s will hit low enough and hard enough. For most music they will, which is why you hear many audiophiles say that towers are enough. A lot of the older audiophiles don't listen to EDM, hip hop, and rap. So they wouldn't benefit.

But one day down the road--enjoy those speakers for a good while first--if you want to feel your room shake for deep bass music (and movies, too), then think a sub.

Yeah! When I save up some money I'll look into a good sub so I can annoy my neighbors.

I'm sure that they will be out of your budget range, but how about some subwoofers like these. Watch the video and see what they can do.

Wow! That's just insane. Things in my room will start falling apart and police will be at my door in no time.
