I don't have a lot of experience with various IEMs....and I don't speak "audiophile" well enough to explain what I am looking for.

The only reference points I have are Shure 535s and UE TripleFi 10

I loved the UEs, for the clarity and bass.  I listen mostly to alt-rock

The 535s are good for clarity, but I much preferred the UEs

Based on this limited info, what IEMs should I consider?

Pretty much most iems at the same price range nowadays are significantly better than those shures. Even my old Sony XBA-A3 were better than my SE535.

I'd recommend you check iems such as Fischer Amps FA-4E XB, FLC8s, iBasso IT03, MEE Pinnacle P1....

SE535s were very overrated and overpriced iems and i quickly got rid of them after listening to Sony's A3. I'm sure other budget offering iems also blow them out of the water.
