i've been looking for an amp for some time but can't find anything that i really love. i recently got my k701s so i'm looking for a portable amp with a rechargeable battery and a 1/4 " jack. i'm also looking for it to be small and cheap

Only one I can think of would be the Grado (recharable batteries and 1/4 inch jack) but I don't even know if you could get one used for that budget. You might want to consider buying a Grado 1/4 to 1/8 adapter and then your selection of amps will increase quite a bit.

ok well thanks for the help i think ill just forget about a 1/4" jack and go for something small. do you think that Little Dot Micro+ , C&C XO or C&C F1 (on Headb.com: Audiophile Products, Accessories & more) would be suitable for the 701s ?

it does have to be portable. rechargeable battery is the only thing i truly require, everything else is more or less an option

Get an adapter cable for 1/8" and then get a mini³ from Rockhopper Audio (I think he's still got one available).
