Thinking about upgrading from my MG HEAD to the RKV (haven't heard it yet, but just looking at it has always made me salivate). I know it's a heck of a leap $$$-wise. Anyone know if & where an RKV can be had at a reasonable discount? Also, are the unusual tubes in this unit tough and/or expensive to replace? Finally, what are the actual physical measurements of the thing? Gotta know if I can squeeze it into my equip rack. Thanks for the info.

Just for the record, I haven't heard the MG Head Quote:

It's justified. Quote:

I don't believe templeboy has sold his yet, and his has the updated caps, so it's effectively a III.

And I believe there are several people here who can vouch for the fact that you can trust him.

Alternatively, I got mine at Brooklyn Audio (look to audiogon). Don't know about discounts, though, mine was a special case. Quote:

Tough -- yes, impossible -- no, expensive -- not what I've found. Quote:

Dunno off hand, will try and remember to measure it tonight and post in the morning unless someone else has answered by then.
