The two tango albums by violinist Gidon Kremmer: Hommage a Piazzolla and El Tango, are beautifully performed classical Tango in a chamber-music setting. For vocal tango, I'd recommend tenor Macelo Alvarez's recording of Carlos Gardel's songs
It's actually Gidon Kremer, but yes, those records are the landmarks. For something that's not quite so classically-based, you might go directly to Astor Piazzolla, whose tunes are the source of both Kremer's and Yo-Yo Ma's discs. Maybe try Concierto Para Bandoneon/Tres Tangos, which features Piazzolla playing with the Orchestra of St. Luke's conducted by Lalo Schifrin.
