Hello folks! I've been lurking for a little while since my old MD player died on me looking for some ideas of what to replace it with.

I am open to all ideas but i would very much like the ability to record band rehearsals for practicing on my own later. I am a complete newbie in this regard and would also greatly appreciate advice on mic's etc.

I am drawn to the convenience of a HDD player but have only read disparaging comments on the ability of the M3 and ihp-1** to record (are there other HDD options?), on the other hand i understand that HiMD is constrained by sonicstage not letting you burn audio CDs from recorded material... as you can probably tell, I dont have a clue what I want, I need help!

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

You can use himdrenderer to convert files uploaded from Hi-MDs using SonicStage to wav files. On the other hand, hardly any hdd players allow you to record.
