Hi,
I will buy a surround headphone to use with my computer. My primary interest is gaming. I got a x-fi gamer soundcard with THX certificate. What do you recommend under 150$? Thanks.

Unless you get a Sennheiser Surrounder you are better off using a stereo headphone and turning on Creative EAX for headphones.

The headphones like the zalman and the medusa with their multiple drivers do not do as good a job imo. They also sound worse for music.

Its uglier than all hell and its not easily got ahold of, I mention it because it truly does work. Sennheiser do not have any other surround or Quad headphones that I know of.

Trust me, stereo >>>>>>>>>>> 5.1 headphones if you have an X-Fi card with EAX.

I'd go with a stereo headphone with a audio card that supports Dolby Headphones or another good SS DSP..
The Sony SA3000
Sen 555
DT770
Sen 121pro
AT 500/700

These are all suitable for gaming.. But if you insist on getting a 5.1 headset with 8 drivers I'd get the Trittons, but build & sound quality will suffer.. possibly comfort. I recommended the 595's to a guy online for H3, & he's really impressed with the comfort.. over 5 hrs of gaming & no problems..

You can go here for ideas too..

Thanks for your recomandations.
I have done a short search for them and found Sen55 and DT770 suitable. Sony is 400$ which more than double my bugget and i coudnt find information about 121pro ,and AT 500/700 (i dont know open name of AT)

Altough i take these as a second option, i think if i dont try a 5.1, it will stick in my mind

Zalmans and trittons price is good but
the medusa sells very good, have very good reviews and also recomended in Toms hardware. Isnt there anybody heard of it?

Also i found Sharkoon 5.1 Dolby® Digital Certified Headphones.
Do you think it guarantees some level of sound quality?

Sounds like he's got his mind made up of these 5.1 crapcans for gaming. Too bad he doesn't understand soundstage etc. I would recommend Beyerdynamic DT770Pro80 or Audio Technica A700 or A900 for gaming. Those cans are also great for music and movies, and tend to have more bass then most cans without sacrificing med or highs. And their 3D positioning are excellent. But don't take our word for it.

I'd like to know the place, too... Didn't a used pair get sold for around 300 in the FS forum not too long ago?
