I need some help deciding between some headphones and I was hoping you could help me out.
I was directed here from the HardForum and this site is highly recommended.
I am not a huge bass head as too much usually gives me a headache.
I do a lot of PC gaming and I usually listen to music (rock, techno and acoustic mostly) while I am gaming. My current headphones (Bose QC15's) just died and I was wondering which of these two would be a good replacement:
 
Sennheiser 558 or Sennheiser 598
 
I have listened to the 598's at a friends house and in addition to the amazing sound they are also extremely comfortable ( I have glasses so this is usually hard to find for me).
 
Is there enough of a difference between the two to warrant the $95 price jump?
 
I have a Creative Soundblaster ZX sound card installed and I use my Blue snowball for my microphone.

The HD558 and HD598 have some what different cup designs, but they use the same driver.
Get the HD558 and remove the black rubber tape from inside the cups.
It will not make it equal to the HD598, but should get you fairly close.
And sometimes you can find used HD558s for just over $100, on eBay or amazon.
