I recently purchased a smsl sa300 amp, smsl sanskrit II dac. I want to connect a hiby r5 to these pieces. I have tried the headphone out on the r5 to micro usb in on the dac. nothing. I confirmed when i connect the dac to my computer and dac to sa300 everything works....what am i doing wrong with the r5.

To go to USB on the SA300 you have to do USB out from the R5

I don’t see a manual online, you should ask in the thread how to do this... the website says it will to USB in and Out but I can’t help in how

I can go to the r5 and it has common output and balanced output...for both i checked line out..there is no usb out. Now on the r5, from inside android, it has default usb configuration with choice of charge, transfer, or usb dac in...stuck on that one...thanks for you help so far

Maybe it’s only USB to coaxial out, you might need this cable. It’s just that spec sheet says “USB IN/OUT”...

have you asked In the R5 thread? I assume their is one...

That cord goes from the r5..which is fine...the dac does not have that type of input....i thought i would post here since i may catch those who have similar smsl products and mybe r5...

you can do USB out, here is the instructions from the R5 manual. You need a USB C OTG cable connect it to a USB cable and connect that USB cable to your DAC
