I need a suggestion on some earphones I can use at home. I enjoy the k-81 sound signature but I would prefer something a bit more analytical targeted at home use, not portable use.

I compared my k-81's to my dad's Bose QC2 and I was very shocked at how bright/ bassless the QC2 was.

I have a budget of $100 usd and I have no problem with noise leakage.

Im trying to stay away from the 280's because they are supposed to be "clampers" like the k-81's, just worse.

Earphones or headphones? For 100 USD you can get the SR80. I've personally never heard of Grado's, but I hear the black Grado's are good for your price.

i don't know much about closed cans...but maybe audio technica a500

earphone means cans or iems.

I've found an old grado sr-325 for 92 bucks (it's not a 325i) fully burnt in. Does anybody know how a grado would sound unamped from an SB X-FI source?

-Just found a sr-125 for $50 too


btw i said that i dont have a problem with sound leakage so open cans are a possibility.
