I received a turtle beach audio advantage micro as an upgrade over my Intel ac'97 sound card, but it just won't plum work in linux. I know that its not a hardware problem because it works fine on a windows machine i have, but Ubuntu just wont let it work. It gets detected as C-Media usb audio, but it wont make any sound, except for the occasional crackle. I've heard of other people on the forums getting it to work, so i know its possible. please, help.

I feel a little silly.:P I looked at the general sound problem sticky in the ubuntu forums and used the part about multiple sound cards. After doing what it said, i restarted and it worked.

. I just had to set the usb sound card to default and the AC'97 one second.

The next steop is finding out if the sound card can do all the special things it supposedly can do on windows in linux, like the 5.1 sound on stereo headphones i keep hearing about.
