I really need some help here in deciding what to get. At first i was thinking of getting creative gigaworks t3 or the herman kardon

soundsticks 3 but they are way off my budget and right now after searching the forums for a week  i still cant find/decide on anything
which is near my budget and i have given up on searching.

Anyone can give me any recommendations?

I would mainly be using the speakers for gaming (RPG) and movie and a little bit on music.

My budget is around $150($200 SGD) can add another $50 if its worth it.

Used Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 usually under $100 on eBay.

AudioEngine A5, probably the best "powered" speakers, in their price range, they are 2.0 but trust me when I say they do not need a subwoofer, great bass extension. The advantage of powered speakers is you do not need to buy a seperate amp/receiver.

yea, I've heard the A2's and they were OK, nothing really special. Try looking on ebay and such, to find a good deal on the A5's because they are speaker that will last you a very, very long time. If you want a passive speaker try M-Audio, I know for sure they have speakers in your price range. If not, maybe some other people have suggestions.

i dont really mind if its a passive or active speaker actually, as long as its good. If no one can come up with better recommendations i guess A5 seems like the best choice..

The a5's are over priced, for the same money you can have some active monitors like, mackie mr 5, prodipe pro 5, krk rp5 or behringer b1030a.
Or a passive set-up 2 speakers and an amp.

Stay away from the T3s - the volume dial/knob is extremely problematic (and well documented) and last i heard Creative would charge you for fixing again and again when it acts up but that's just unacceptable since they didn't design a proper, reliable product in the 1st place!

They do, and they have active monitors as well. Here's what they sell for $150 US, the bi-amped BX5a:
