I have two choices for improving the sound from my computer


Get an M-audio Audiophile 2496
or I could get the Audiophile USB (reduced noise)

OR


I keep my Audigy 2 Plat Ex and buy an art DIO plus Stancor Power Supply upgrade.

I know the best thing would be an M-audio-Art to DIO but I can't afford that, which would sound better for XP-7 with HD650.
Is the Audigy 2 really that bad a transport.

I run an audiophile and an audigy 2 in a dual setup, i recommend you hold on to the audigy if you do play the occasional game.
I guess the USB would be easier to configure and work with, although i can assure you the 24/96 in card form s a good setup to work with. I say get whatever is cheaper, and if your using it as a transport get some nice cables.

oh yea, and your other comment, yes it sucks as a transport (audigy2) if you plan on doing anything high-end with it.

I got an audiophile 24/96 on ebay for $139 shipped a few mos ago. I am very happy with it.

Can't compare. For a "card" I've come to really like the AP USB, but it would be difficult to argue it's superior to the ART.
