I trimmed down the depth of one my Westone ES 50 (too deep, ear pain laying down) with MAH DRIMMEL.  Its all good now but Id like to get back the super smooth feel the rest of the shell has...any idea how to do that?

Your Dremel with a cotton buffing wheel (on a very low RPM setting) and some toothpaste for a polishing compound would do.

These are film strips that are used to put a glass-smooth finish on the stroking area of pool cues.   They are textured plastic strips that equal a range from about 1000 to 6000 grit sandpaper.

These are great for hand polishing small things and would probably do well for your IEMs.

Hanging around the pool halls you learn the strangest things...
