Hey all,

Just wanted to know...

1) When I go to remove/disconnect my S616 from the USB connection, is there supposed to be a safely remove option? I don't get one so I have to just take the cable out, is it doing any damage to the player?

2) Is it true that using the VPT (surround sound) feature actually causes the loss of detail? I noticed this today when I played around with the settings, the bass wasn't as detailed and sort of muddy (using future sonics IEMs).

Thanks!

1) No it will not cause damage; it says you can remove the cable right on the screen when it's just charging, when no file transfer is going on

2) If you noticed that there's less detail with VPT, then I'm sure you won't need people to tell you otherwise.

I personally use VPT when listening to really, really old classical recordings that come out in mono.

1) It will be safe as long as you don't disconnect it while it says "Do Not Disconnect." If you do while that appears, you risk data loss. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I do it all the time.

2) I wouldn't use the surround features. They all sounded funny to me, and disturbs the sound a lot. I would think they're only good for those who have not-so-good earphones.

Cheers guys!

Oh yeah, I noticed the do not disconnect thing come up when I xfr music, thanks for cleaing that up for me.

I agree, the surround feature is good for lower quality earphones, I tried it with earbuds and it actually sounded better, with good IEMs, it ruins the music. Now I know why the feature is there.

I am really, really happy with the S616, hopefully my gf will be happy with her A818!
