Hey guys ,

New to Head-Fi so please excuse me if I screwed up something . I live in Malaysia , so basically ****s pretty expensive here compared to the States , Dollar is 3.4 to Malaysian Ringgit if I am not wrong .

Anyways ,
I am looking for a set of cans for competitive gaming and I mainly listen to Rap ( occasional pop ) .I've shortlist some cans , but I am not sure if they are the way to go . So please help me out .

-Beyer DT 770 Pro
-Beyer Custom One Pro + Goose Neck Mic
-AD 700X
-Probably a pair of Superlux

These are the pair of cans I shorlisted , I heard the AD 700X are good for gaming but lack bass . I love the Beyer COP mainly because it has these 4 bass ports which I can adjust and the mic . But , I hope you guys can suggest some other cans but it's kinda hard because some cans that are 200 USD cost over 1 Grand in Malaysia .

Regards,
Duckface

Samson SR-850 (made by Superlux) are they local?

Yeah , Superlux are available local . Dirt cheap too. Are they similar to the Ad 700X ?

Not as good as the ATH-AD700X, but the Superluxs are a really good value for the price.
Some of the Superlux models are Chinese knock offs of the AKG K240s.
Your getting headphones almost as good for 1/3 the price.

For bass, look into Ultrasone HFI-580 or HFI-780. These are closed cans with good bass emphasis. And because of the S-Logic surround technology they have, they can be better than many other closed cans for gaming. For example, notice how the Ultrasone Pro 900 score much better for gaming than the Beyerdynamic DT770 in this gaming headphone guide.

Hmm , if I get the Superlux I could get another pair of cans and a mic . Have you had personal experiences with it ?

There isn't any Ultrasone here in Malaysia , if there is . They cost a bomb. I was thinking about the Sony XB700's .

I've used the Superlux HD668B and Samson SR850 (made by Superlux)
I prefer the Samson SR-850s.

I might just get the SR 850 then , need to look for a good desk mic :/ Do you use the Beyer velour for the SR 850 ?

The Beyers ear pads do not fit the Samson SR-850.
The SR-850s (made by Superlux) are a knock off of the AKG K240 series.
So any ear pad that fit the AKG K240/241/270/271 or Superlux HD662, 668B, HD669 should fit the SR-850.
AKG K240 Velour ear pads usually sell in the USA for $45.
Here are some Chinese copies of the AKG ear pads, $16.
