This is my first official post, though I have read head-fi for years.  I finally joined as I have a problem that I cannot seem to figure out or get any help on.  I am trying to "simply" connect my first headphone amp into my Pioneer receiver (model number above).  The amp is a Maverick Audio Tubemagic D1 plus DAC.  I have tried everything I can think of and cannot get anything to work.  I have read and read on this site and others and I cannot find the answer I need or it goes way over my head.  I'm pretty decent with connecting home theater stuff, but for the life of me, I keep failing at this headphone amp thing.

All of my source material is going into the receiver using HDMI.  I am not using any of the other inputs/outputs.

Anyway, I am attaching a picture of the back of my receiver and the back of the headphone amp.  I would appreciate anyone's thoughts/help.  Is my receiver incapable of having an amp connected?  Should I connect the headphone amp directly into the receiver's headphone jack?

Thank you in advance for any help.

I guess I have to go with links until I figure out why this picture thing won't work:

Why not just plug your headphone(s) directly into the Pioneer receiver's headphone jack?
What headphone do you own?
or headphones you are plan on buying in the near future?

P.S. Sorry about you wallet.
