Hey, I've been recently looking at getting a new pair of IEM's since I broke my old klipsch S4's. I would love to find something with a similar sound to my ATH-M50's under Or around $150's if at all possible. The reasons I like the sound of the M50's is because I love bass but don't want it to affect the clarity of the music. The M50's have good accentuation to bass but don't cause anything else to lose in clarity or quality. The IEM's I was currently looking at were the RHA MA750 and the Hifiman RE-400. I am open to all suggestions and opinions.

I've heard of these before around this forum but never looked into them much, thanks for the suggestion. What makes you recommend these if you don't mind elaborating?

Also check out the JVC HA-Fxt90.

I have the RE 400s, which I bought to replace my fxt90s that got stolen. They have accurate bass but definitely aren't anything special when it comes to bass impact.

The he 400s are very balanced and detailed

So being ranked #23 in universal fit here on Head Fi constitutes "awful"? Not to mention the large appreciation thread on here. Reviews on Amazon are excellent as well.

Have you listened to them? I've listened to both. He was looking for something with solid bass with a decent amount of detail. The jvcs fit that bill IMO

To the OP read ljokerl's iem review thread on here. Take a look at both and decide for yourself. He gives the fxt90 a solid review.

No i haven't heard them. I guess I really jumped the gun by reading one review and jumping to conclusions.

I looked into the Shire SE215's but from what I have read it sounds like the RHA MA750's outclass them within the similar sound signature. I cannot be sure on this as I haven't tried either of them personally. How is the comfort with the 215's?

The special edition sounds different from the original. They both have the same structure (on the outside at least) though.
They are very comfortable.
The originals do have a bass bump but according to this thread, they are more neutral than the ma750

They are very similar to the Fischer DBA-02 mkII in that they share the same TWFK balanced armatures(although they may share the same drivers keep in mind that manufactures often tune them differently).  I personally have not tried them but after extensive research it seems that the B2 is a well balanced and a little more analytical than that of its competitors.  It is a well regarded IEM around Head-Fi, and is one of the most often recommended IEM under $200.

Thanks for the reply and the link to the other related thread. After considering all the choices I think I will be going for the RHA MA750's as they spark my interests the most and sound very interesting to what I want. Thanks everyone for the replies and if you want when I get them I could post back here in this thread to mention my first impressions.

I have both and the Shure don't even come close. The SE 215 are good for what they are, fun headphones for people that want a warm, not critical listening. They are outclassed by the V Sonics on pretty much everything, is not even a contest. In fact, they are not the best in their price bracket, and in fact even headphones that are cheaper, like the Dunu's Landmine, are better. Of course, personal preference plays a huge part in our selection, and you might prefer the Shure's sound signature. So they are not better but you might end up enjoying them more.
