I like the audio quality of the DT990 Premium 600-Ohm a little better then the DT990 Pro 250-Ohm.
But unless you can find some used DT990 Premium 600-Ohm for around $200 or less, it not really worth the price difference.

It is a nice headphone, i just bought a demo T70 from Beyerdynamic USA, left cup is dead, not sure if i should try to open it and try to see if i can fix it.
$350 is about the going price for a used T70.

True, for the DT 990 I think the 250 and 600 ohm sound a little different, with the DT 880s the 600 adn 250 are identical in sound, I assume the differances in the 600 ohm DT 990 aren't entirely for worth $50 for a used phone
 
although! I've seen DT 990 600 ohms in the head fi For sale thread for around 170 180, that might be worth while although there is the mix amp may not be able to drive a 600 ohm, so for your case the Cheaper 250 ohm pro model might be better
