Hi all,
 
I'm looking for help in choosing may new DAP.
 
I'm doubting between the X5 (I also have a FIIO E18) and ... the Astell&Kern AK100 MKII ... (at 2x the price)
OR ... HiFiMan HM-700 (looks good but small storage)
 
Maybe a bit a strange list-up, but can somebody give me some input on "can you hear the difference"?
I'm looking to build on my audio files and setup. I really love music and classical in particular.
 
The DAP will be most used with IEM's (I'll probable get Shure 535 or Westone W40 ... Grado GR10 ...)
 
 
Current Setup:
Headsets: Beyerdynamic DT880 250Ohm (half-open), AKG K551 (closed), Pioneer DJE-2000 IEM's
Source: Galaxy S5 + FIIO E18 (PowerAMP), iPod Classic 160GB + same FIIO E18 + L9 30pin cable
 
 
I'm a bit at a loss to make a decision, as well for the DAP as for the IEM's.
 
 
Maybe some other suggestions?
DAP max price I consider is 1000€ should it be a mega fantastic difference with other options.
 
All input is very much appreciated ... not easy ...

You can consider DX90 as well, but if you want to go for AK series I'd recommend waiting a bit more for the AK100II instead of the MK2. Slightly more exp, but more worth it with the features/functions packed inside.

Yes, that (AK100 II, the new model) is the one I thought of getting ...
 
 
For the DX90 vs X5 ... I ve read quite some complaints about the DX90, bugs, crashes ...
As you suggest it, i suppose you have an DX90 and that you are happy with it?

I demoed the AK100 and AK120, they are really nice, really like everything about them, except for the price.
