My friend's Turd-le Beach headset just gave up the ghost on him and he asked me if I could order a new gaming headset off Amazon Prime for him.  I'm happy to help, but I am not sure what to recommend.  He wants to spend $60, but is willing to go as high as $75.  The headphones must be available on Amazon Prime as well.  I was looking through Mad Lust Envy's gaming headphone guide and I didn't really see anything that stood out except for the Skullcandy SLYR.  It is right at his limit of $75 and is well reviewed in the guide, but I was wondering if anybody has any other suggestions that are as good or better than the Skullcandy's, while staying within the $75 price range and being on Amazon Prime.

I was looking at the Plantronics Game Comm 780 for $65 - http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-GameCom-780-Surround-Headset/dp/B00B1KJK22/ - does anybody know how these compare to the Skullcandy SLYR?

Here is a link to the SLYR on Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009RXUNZI/

Thanks guys!

Why not a good pair of headphones with a clip on?

The zalman mic attachment works pretty well, it's what I use. Most gaming headsets aren't that great, imho.

Hi,

In terms of sound quality, Gemini HSR-1000 is a top pick at that price point.

In terms of soundstage, Pioneer Se A1000 is probably your best bet.
Se A1000 are open back headphones which don't provide any isolation.

Both are easy to drive.

Best Luck!
