Hello All,

I need help in choosing a home Minidisc deck.

I’m new to MD and want to use the format for a few different things. Like most, I want to use it as my main portable solution. In addition, I want to use it for live recording of everything from loud shows to the babbling brook discovered on a hike through the woods. I have just picked up a portable (Sharp 722) on ebay for these recording instances, but I want the ability to transfer the digital signal to my computer for editing and possibly outputting to CD. Hence, the desire for a deck with optical or coax out (this is a must). I’m not really interested in the MDLP function, so this is not a factor.

I’ve been looking on ebay (I’m on a budget so whatever it is will have to be used) to see what is available – here is some of what I have seen:

Sony MDS-JE630 (From what I’ve read this would be the perfect deck for me)
Sony MDS-JE510
Sony MDS-JB920
Yamaha MDX-793
TEAC MD-H100

Basically I want to hear from the collective pros & cons on the decks listed or other suggestions that might be better choices (for a budget shopper).

Thanks for the help.

Namastay,
Cheeba-Fi
