So I just can't seem to decide on a set of headphones. I'm looking at the Ultrasone Pro 750, Denon AHD2000, and the Shure SRH940, but would love some suggestions. I'm leaning towards the Ultrasones, but would love other's opinions and wisdom.

Also, would it be recommended to get an amp alongside the cans?

Thanks in advance.

Well if you have Denon ah-d2000 available somewhere around, for a price lower than 400 - i'd say it is your best bet then. They are practically a much more costlier ah-d5000 without wooden cups. Ultrasones have very mixed feedback, so do SRH940's (almost as if SRH840's are better).
For denon amp is not necessary btw.
So thats what would be my choice between headphones you're looking at.
