Hi Guys,
Just want to tap on the collective wisdom of the experienced ears around the place:
I'm hoping to build a small rig inclusive of a Supra-aural headphone and an amplifier to match to be used either with a CD player or a laptop.
My Dad's been working steadily for ages, and he's never had the time to watch orchestral concerts and the like. So, I'm hoping to put something together for him and get a whole library of FLACs or CDs for him- then in his spare time, he can just relax at home and listen.
I'm thinking of an open-back with good headroom and soundstage, trying as best as possible to mimic the feel of a large concert hall, (1800 seater and up). I'm also not too familiar; I use a integrated digital amp in my room, and when I use my headphones I get a little buzz-rattle from my laptop- would like to avoid that as well in case he wants to turn it up.
I'm hoping to keep it within 400SGD or so.
Any thoughts, bros?
