Hey, its just as the title says. I had a home theatre in a box from Sony, and for movies and games (which I want this setup to be for) it was perfect. I need to replace this since one of my dogs decided it would be a great idea to pee on it. I have a budge for maybe $600 or $700 before tax. I'd like the speakers to be free standing and not the little satellite speakers that are mounted on to walls. I don't want a DVD player or anything with the receiver. I don't care if its a home theatre in a box or if its built from scratch. If I missed something that'll help you then please let me know. Thanks. : )

Best deal in your budget range is the Pioneer Andrew Jones speaker set. Check out this review at Audioholics: http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/speakers/floorstanding/pioneer-sp-pk52fs
If you watch, they can be found on special. I understand that Frys often runs the towers for $77 each. See this Pioneer Andrew Jones owners thread at AVS forum and ask questions there: http://www.avsforum.com/t/1278774/pioneers-speaker-genius-hits-low-price-point/4350
Then Newegg currently has the older series of this speaker set on special, too. Still a better value than anything else you could buy at its price.

The Pioneer 8" sub with that set is a wimp. Since there is no audio reason to match the sub brand with the speakers, get the Dayton SUB1200. Great performer for the money :)

Then you just need a receiver. Accessories4less.com sells factory refurbished/factory warrantied Denons and Onkyos.
