I've been out of the fray for a very long time due to my increasingly demanding college course load.

I need good IEMs for noise cancelling. What are some good ones for no more than $200?

Not sure if I need active cancellation -- that big battery powered box seems a bit unwieldy. I just need isolation for studying, that, when paired with playing white noise, will block out as much sound as possible, particularly voices. Also to be used for music.

Is the etymotic Hf5 any good? Anything else/better to fit the bill?

It appears as though it will be perfect -- which tips are the best for isolation? Those triple-flange ones? Does it come with only one pair of them?

Hi.

I just bought the HF5 from ety. And they isolate very well. I found the triple flange ones a bit uncomfortable but the foam ones where perfect for my ears. They isolate outside noises extremely well, even with the foam tips. There is also a bit of noise coming from the cord when i wear them on the outside of my clothes, nothing that cant be fixed by tucking them in under your shirt.

Cheers
